Siri's Latest Makeover : Proactive Assistance

Apple announced iOS 9 during its annual WWDC conference. iOS 9 is the next level of Apple’s iPhones, iPads and iPod Touch devices. The iOS 9 does not have any revolutionary develpoment in terms of design but the most talked about feature of the new OS is Proactive assistance.
Proactive assistance works with the help of deep-search linking combined with the data provided by the third-party apps. This combination provides results that are most relevant to a user. Surprisingly, iOS 9’s highlight feature has same functioning as that of Google Now. Apple’s Spotlight search will be replaced by proactive assistance in iOS 9.   Proactive assistance will give users the most relevant information based on the context they put in.

The smartness of proactive assistance can be seen with many instances. One such example is that it can learn what music you listen to in the gym at what time of day and it will put that on for you when say you plug the iPhone into a set of speakers.
Now Siri will scan the emails and will put invitations directly into your calendar, it can even automatically offer an energetic soundtrack to your morning run. Siri now suggests whom you may want to call, apps you may want to use at a particular time of the day, and the breaking news you may want to read.
Siri has resemblance to Google Now in many aspects, all the offerings in terms of features by proactive assistance are same as Google Now. Siri only has upper hand over Google Now in terms of the privacy. Unlike Google Now all the data will stay on phone instead of the cloud. Apple further added that searches made via Proactive will be anonymous and will not be shared with third-parties or linked to other Apple services.
Whether proactive will be able to knock out Google Now will be the big question.
